I’m Jessica Hanna Sowell, founder of ImpactHer NC and Confident Young Minds. As a single mother raising two boys, I know what it means to fight for stability, to start over, and to work two or three jobs just to make ends meet. I’ve been incarcerated, overlooked, and doubted—but I never stopped betting on myself.
Today, I’m married and blessed to run several successful businesses alongside my husband, who has shown me a new perspective on life and a deeper motivation over the last eight years. But that kind of transformation doesn’t happen overnight—and it doesn’t happen without someone believing in you. That’s why ImpactHer NC exists.
This organization is for the women who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unseen. It’s for the mothers trying to provide, the women starting over, and the ones who simply need someone to say, “You can do this.” If no one else has ever bet on you—I’m here to help you change that mindset.
You are worthy. You are capable. And your story isn’t over.

ABOUT US
ImpactHer NC is a nonprofit organization based in Charlotte, North Carolina, dedicated to uplifting single women and mothers through holistic support and life-changing opportunities. We help women overcome personal setbacks, build independence, and reclaim their futures through education, career training, housing assistance, and emotional healing.
Our services include helping women earn their GED or high school diploma, obtain CNA/PCA training, prepare resumes, and secure transitional housing. We also assist with transportation, credit repair, and access to affordable childcare. For survivors of domestic violence or women reentering society after incarceration, we provide safe spaces, guidance, and a community that understands their journey.
Through our partnership with ConfidentYoungMinds.org, we extend vital support to families—offering therapy services, school sponsorships, groceries, and after-school or summer camp assistance for children. We believe that when you empower a woman, you transform an entire household—and eventually, an entire community.
